Teen Art Group

Teen Art Group (TAG) is an immersive arts learning experience grounded in the cultural, educational and experimental opportunities made possible through a unique partnership between Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECUAD) and the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Designed for youth ages 15 to 18, the program alternates weekly between the two locations. At the Gallery, participants take part in interactive experiences with artworks and exhibitions and enjoy behind-the-scenes sessions with curators, artists and other cultural practitioners. The exploration of art and ideas generated at the Gallery continues into studio classrooms at ECUAD, where participants join a vibrant community of learning and gain access to university resources. Taught by professional artist educators, the studio component of the program is an opportunity for participants to experiment with materials and making, while developing their artistic expression and voice as young creatives.

Why join the Teen Art Group?

This dynamic program encourages youth to explore a wide range of topics, ideas and media. By the end of the program, participants will generate new ideas alongside their peers and produce both independent and collaborative artwork to begin building a portfolio, all while deepening their creative, critical and cultural engagement with the world through art and design.
