Art in the Morning/Art in the Evening

The Associates meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm and on the third Friday of the month at 10am for a guided tour of a current Gallery exhibition.

These popular guided tours of current exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery resume after our summer hiatus on Tuesday, Sept. 13, and Friday, Sept. 16. Docent Darlene Forrester will lead us through BHARTI KHER: Matter, the first major North American retrospective of this sculptor and painter from modern India.

Later this fall:
Harry Callahan, The Street, and NEXT: Stephen Waddell - Dark Matter Atlas. These two photographers invite us to see the individual in the crowded urban landscape (Callahan), and to see the surreal beauty of underground caverns (Waddell).

Walker Evans: Depth of Field. This is a comprehensive look at the work of Evans, whose photographs of Americans during the Great Depression remain the standard for precise, evocative documentation.
