Drop in on Sundays to get creative as a family!
Every Sunday from 12 to 4 PM, the Gallery offers interactive activities designed for the whole family. Explore, chat and play in the exhibition spaces with our team of Art Agents. Then experiment with the materials, processes and ideas that you see in the artworks on display in The Making Place. Sundays are a great day to introduce your kids to art at the Gallery and continue to inspire their creativity.
FREE for children 12 and under, when accompanied by an adult.
Activities are designed for visitors aged 5- to 12-years-old, but all ages and abilities are welcome to participate.

Sunday March 22: Drawing a World Summit on Animals
In her drawing Composition (People, Animals, and the World Holding Hands) (2007), Shuvinai Ashoona uses coloured pencils to reflect an Inuit knowledge called ᐃᓄᐃᑦ ᖃᐅᔨᒪᔭᑐᖃᖏᑦ (Qaujimajatuqangit), a belief in the interconnectedness of life. Speaking about this work, Ashoona says: “I was thinking that they were having a meeting, a world meeting about the seals, polar bears… rethinking what the world would be for the animals.”
ACTIVITY: Imagine a world meeting focussed on how we live with animals. Who would be present at this meeting? People? Animals? Supernatural beings? Draw the figures you see there using pencil crayon.
