Cellists Janet Steinberg and Natasha Boyko will perform two sets in the 1st Floor Rotunda at 5:30 and 6:30 PM respectively.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
Natasha Boyko received her Doctorate Degree with Honours from the Kiev State Conservatory in 1978. She also graduated with an Honours Diploma from the Kiev State Special Music School for Talented Children in 1970. Between 1980 and 1982, she was Assistant Principal Cello of the CBC Radio Orchestra and a member of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra. She was also formerly the Professor of Cello at the University of Western Washington in Bellingham. Boyko is currently a cellist with the Grammy and Juno Award winning Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, as well as an active chamber and solo musician and pedagogue. She has made numerous recordings with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, including an exclusive one-hour national broadcast of Cello duets.
Originally from San Francisco, Janet Steinberg moved to Canada and joined the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as Associate Principal Cellist in September, 1987. She was previously the Assistant Principal Cellist of the Oakland Symphony Orchestra and performed frequently as a member of the San Francisco Symphony. Steinberg studied cello with esteemed pedagogue Eleanore Schoenfeld at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where she received her bachelors and masters degrees in music performance. Steinberg has played as a member of the Bellingham Music Festival in Washington, at Cabrillo Music Festivals in California, and at the Yellow Barn Music Festival in Putney, Vermont. For the past 25 years, she has spent her summers performing orchestral and chamber music at the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
