VIVA Awards Ceremony

Join us at this special ceremony, hosted by the Jack and Doris Shadbolt Foundation for the Visual Arts, to celebrate the recipients of British Columbia’s most prestigious arts awards: the VIVA Award and the Alvin Balkind Curator’s Prize.

Artist Krista Belle Stewart is the winner of the 2019 VIVA Award, marking the 31st year of the award, and the Gallery’s own Senior Curator Bruce Grenville is the recipient of the 5th biannual Alvin Balkind Curator’s Prize. Each recipient receives $12,000 from the Jack and Doris Shadbolt Foundation for the Visual Arts.

Critic and writer Max Wyman will be the keynote speaker of the evening.
