Join us for a special edition of The Making Place in celebration of Asian Heritage Month at the Gallery!

 

In this hands-on printmaking workshop, led by Gallery Educator Rabiya Siddiqui, we will explore the meditative art of creating mandalas and patterns. Participants will learn basic shapes and design elements and incorporate them into a mandala print of their own. 

These workshops are suitable for ages 7 and up. No previous experience is required. Supplies will be provided. 

Three sessions will be offered throughout the day between 11 AM and 3:30 PM. 

SESSION 1: 11 AM–12:10 PM 

SESSION 2: 12:15–1:30 PM 

SESSION 3: 2–3:30 PM 

Limited capacity. Registration is required. 

This workshop is free for members or with Gallery admission. Children and youth aged 18 and under always enjoy free admission to the Gallery, including access to this workshop!

ABOUT THE ARTIST 

Rabiya Siddiqui is an artist of South Asian descent whose practice focuses on the slow-moving art of drawing mandalas and how it can help people tap into something deeper within themselves. She has been working on her craft for the past 13 years. She is currently a visual arts student at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and is an educator at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
