The Making Place is back once a month on Sundays! Join us to discover new ways to understand art through interactive activities designed for the whole family.
First, explore, chat and play in the exhibition spaces with the Gallery’s team of Art Educators. Then, experiment with the materials, processes and ideas that you see in the artworks on display in a hands-on studio workshop.
Capacity for this event is limited. Registration is required. Workshops will run for an hour and a half and begin at 10 AM and 1:30 PM. Please meet the Art Educator in the 1st Floor Rotunda to begin your experience!
On Sunday, May 1, we’ll take a closer look at the exhibition GROWING FREEDOM: The instructions of Yoko Ono / The art of John and Yoko, exploring the themes of imagination, participation and action in Yoko Ono’s instruction works and thinking more about her installation HELMETS (PIECES OF SKY) (2001/2021).
In The Making Place studio, you’ll create your own puzzle that expresses a message of hope and healing, along with instructions for how it could be put back together in unique and playful ways.
Participating in The Making Place is a great way to introduce your kids to art at the Gallery and continue to inspire their creativity.
FREE for children 12 and under, when accompanied by an adult. Free for members or with Gallery Admission.
Activities are designed for visitors aged 5- to 12-years-old, but all ages and abilities are welcome to participate.
