The Making Place: Machines

Victoria-based artist Mowry Baden is interested in kinesthetic learning and encourages visitors to interact with many of his art installations, challenging our expectations of how the body should behave within the gallery space. In this hands-on workshop, families will explore why Baden uses certain materials in his art and what messages these materials carry when they are repurposed in this way. Reflecting on the exhibition, families are invited to create their own sculptures with materials that are not typically used in art. How can these materials be manipulated and shaped into new designs? Will your sculpture be interactive?
