Get creative as a family at the Gallery!

The Making Place is back once a month on Sundays! Join us to discover new ways to understand art through interactive activities designed for the whole family.

First, explore, chat and play in the exhibition spaces with the Gallery’s team of Art Educators. Then, experiment with the materials, processes and ideas that you see in the artworks on display in a hands-on studio workshop.

Capacity for this event is limited. Registration is required. The first workshop will begin promptly at 10:30 AM, and the second will begin at 1:30 PM. Each workshops will run for an hour and a half. Please meet the Art Educator in the 1st Floor Rotunda to start your experience!

BOOK YOUR SPOT

On Sunday, June 12, we will take a closer look at the exhibition The Imitation Game: Visual Culture in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, with special focus on artist Sougwen Chung’s large-scale drawing installation that she created in collaboration with a swarm of custom-designed robots. Together, we will look, think and talk about the artworks and consider the differences and similarities between human and machine movement.

In The Making Place studio, families will create a drawing robot of your own and experiment with mark making. How will you collaborate with your robot to express yourself?

Participating in The Making Place is a great way to introduce your kids to art at the Gallery and continue to inspire their creativity.

FREE for children 12 and under, when accompanied by an adult. Free for members or with Gallery Admission.

Activities are designed for visitors aged 5- to 12-years-old, but all ages and abilities are welcome to participate.
