In conjunction with the exhibition The Tin Man Was a Dreamer: Allegories, Poetics and Performances of Power, the Gallery invites local artists, activists and organizers to share, rant and instigate dialogue that speaks across themes of power, models of reciprocity, performance and politics.
Join Afro Van Connect founders Dae Shields and Buni Kor for the first event in the Soapbox Talks series, which will focus on freestyling, power and exchange in music.

Afro Van Connect believes in community, music, joy and freedom and aims to empower the voices of African Descent Youth through conversation, collaboration, creation and performance. Establishing a gathering of young vibrant creative minds, they are dedicated to innovating authentic solutions and to increasing the visibility of the underrepresented diaspora communities. They offer a creative capitol platform where shared opportunities and resources are designed to support liberating education and community sustainability, building a platform to celebrate our shared story through collective accomplishments.
