In celebration of Asian Heritage Month, join us for tours in Punjabi of the exhibitions Riopelle: Crossroads in Time and Emily Carr: Navigating an Impenetrable Landscape.
Guided tours are a great way to learn more about the cultural and social contexts of artworks on display. Led by experienced guest educator Guntaj Deep Singh, each tour is unique and reflects your guide’s passions and interests.
Each 45-minute tour meets in the Gallery’s Forecourt. Tours will begin at 11 AM and 12 PM.
This tour is free for Members and Access Pass Holders or with Gallery admission. Registration is not required.

Asian Language Tours are being presented as part of the Gallery’s Asian Heritage Month programming and are an initiative of the Centre for Global Asias.

ABOUT THE EDUCATOR
Born and raised in Punjab, India, Guntaj Deep Singh is a self-taught visual artist, photographer and filmmaker who nourishes his imagination through his passion for fusing art and poetry. Living in Vancouver since 2017, he has been devotedly contributing to the arts and culture of local LGBTQ+ and South Asian communities. He has hosted a Punjabi Music Radio Show and cultural events and also occasionally writes for magazines. He has worked as a Punjabi translator for Apple Music and the Vancouver Art Gallery. As an artist, a recurring theme in his work is this desire to make traditionalism meet modernism. His work has been displayed at local and international art festivals, galleries and spaces, including 5X Fest, Salt Spring National Art Prize and Sikh Heritage Festival, among others. His photographic series Openly. | ਸ਼ਰੇਆਮ , which was exhibited at the 2023-24 Salt Spring National Art Prize exhibition, is now available as a photo-poetry book.
