A webinar exploring how the arts and culture sector responds to environmental challenges
Join Arts Council Wood Buffalo for a webinar exploring how artists, curators and cultural organizations are responding to environmental challenges through exhibitions, public art and community programming.
Using real-world case studies, a panel of experts will examine how place, collaboration and curatorial decision-making shape projects that engage with climate change and our relationships to land.
The event will conclude with a live audience Q&A.
Free and open to the public. This event will be presented virtually on Zoom.

Andrea Valentine-Lewis, Curatorial Assistant at the Vancouver Art Gallery will share the curatorial vision behind Future Geographies: Art in the Age of Climate Change, an exhibition that brings together contemporary artists to explore our evolving relationship with the natural world.
Eveline Kolijn, a Calgary–based curator, printmaker and installation artist, will discuss Energy Futures, a collaborative initiative uniting 20 artists, 20 writers and 20 energy experts to foster dialogue around energy literacy and Alberta’s energy future.
The Wandering Island will explore how curatorial approaches can extend beyond the gallery space to create immersive, place-responsive experiences that connect audiences with local landscapes and environmental questions.
