Join us for the next instalment of New Music at the Gallery. Distinguished sitarist and composer Mohamed Assani dispenses musical healing with a program that stretches across borders and breaks musical boundaries. Weaving raga, classical and jazz idioms, Assani invites his revered colleagues Amarjeet Singh (tabla) and Jodi Proznick (bass) to join him for this evening of musical conversation. Together, this ensemble will present a joyful program in our historic Courtroom, transforming what was once a space of judgement and incrimination into one of healing and repair.
New Music at the Gallery is a live concert series hosted by the Vancouver Art Gallery that features an array of musicians and composers who draw on contemporary art themes. Curated by Jack Campbell.
