I Dream Library and the Vancouver Art Gallery invite you to celebrate the release of Imagine a Garden—a Kid Lit book of poetry and art that shares seven real-life stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things for their communities amidst war, poverty and violence. Join us for an afternoon that builds tangible connections to poetry, encourages discussion about activism, and offers tools to reimagine our complex world through the lens of love and compassion.

Suitable for ages 5 and up.

PACE IN SPACE! | Walking Sessions

Imagine A Garden features the poem “Imagine,” a story of internationally acclaimed Mexican artist Pedro Reyes and his multidisciplinary performance Imagine (2012).

This walking session connects participants with the artist through engaging with his work PACE IN SPACE! currently installed at Offsite.

Walking sessions will be held at 11 AM and 1 PM. Meet at the Gallery, Hornby Entrance (750 Hornby Street) Registration is required.

YOUNG ACTIVIST READING NOOK | Reading Sessions

I Dream Library and Guests will host a reading of Imagine A Garden in the First Floor Rotunda, followed by an interdisciplinary discussion on changemaking at 12 PM and 2 PM.

Using poetry as a teaching tool, this session will facilitate difficult but hopeful conversations about conflict in our world, and people who are making their communities a better place. Registration is required.
