ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
The Peer Pressure Song Club (PPSC) began with a single word– YES. In early 2022, three friends asked each other if they would all commit to write a new song every two weeks for an entire year. During that time, the group wrote almost 100 songs that ranged from acapella to instrumental, folk to jazz, sombre to celebratory. The PPSC learned that there’s nothing more thrilling than saying YES to creative expression, and nothing more rewarding to keeping that YES buoyant as the months turn into years. In March, the group recorded an album in Studio 2 in the CBC building in downtown Vancouver with producer Leon Power (City and Colour, Frazey Ford), Juno award-winning recording engineer Erik Nielsen (Blue Moon Marquee) and Matt Kelly (City and Colour, Alexisonfire, You+Me). The album YES will be released in Vancouver at a concert on Saturday, November 30 at The Beaumont Studios.
ABOUT CREATIVEMORNINGS
CreativeMornings is a global breakfast lecture series that takes place in over 220 cities around the world. Founded in 2008 by designer Tina Roth Eisenberg in New York, the organization provides a space for the creative community to gather, share inspiration and learn from each other. Each event features a short talk by a guest speaker, with topics centered around creativity, innovation and community. Every session is free to attend and open to everyone, aiming to foster connections and promote collaboration among creatives. The events are unified by a common theme, which changes monthly and is interpreted by speakers in their unique way.
