Join the Vancouver Art Gallery and Canada’s National Observer for a special virtual Earth Day conversation introducing Future Geographies: Art in the Century of Climate Change, a major upcoming exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery exploring how artists are responding to one of the defining challenges of our time.

The event will feature a conversation between Eva Respini, Interim Co-CEO & Curator at Large at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and Josh Kline, artist and curator, moderated by Linda Solomon Wood, founder and publisher of Canada’s National Observer.

Together, they’ll discuss how contemporary artists and cultural institutions are engaging with climate change, from imagining possible futures to reshaping how we understand our relationship with the planet.

The event will conclude with a live audience Q&A.

Free and open to the public. This talk will be presented online on Zoom.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Josh Kline is one of the leading artists of his generation. Based in New York, NY, Kline is best known for creating immersive installations using video, sculpture, photography and design to question how emergent technologies are changing human life in the twenty-first century.

Eva Respini is an internationally renowned curator, arts leader, writer and cultural innovator with deep connections in the visual arts. She has organized major exhibitions for museums and arts organizations in the United States, Canada and Europe, and has lectured and written widely about contemporary art. She is Interim Co-CEO & Curator at Large at the Vancouver Art Gallery and curated the forthcoming exhibition Future Geographies: Art in the Century of Climate Change, opening May 14, 2026.

Linda Solomon Wood is an award-winning journalist and the founder and publisher of Canada’s National Observer, the country’s leading climate publication.
