Join us for the final Art Study Program of the season!
In this session, we welcome Vancouver–based artist and designer Grace Lee of eikcam ceramics to share insights into her evolving clay practice.
Recently, Lee’s work has taken a more spiritual and cultural turn through her exploration of Daruma dolls—whimsical, symbolic figures traditionally associated with perseverance and good fortune. She will discuss her process, share current projects and present a selection of her beautifully crafted ceramic pieces.
This Art Study Program is presented in response to the exhibition Otani Workshop: Monsters in My Head, on view at the Gallery through November 9, 2025.
The artist talk will take place in Room 4East, with refreshments available in the Rooftop Pavilion. Guests are invited to mingle with fellow Members and enjoy a beverage and light snacks prior to the start of the program.
Program Schedule
4:30 PM – Doors open; catering available in the Rooftop Pavilion

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Grace Lee is the ceramicist behind eikcam ceramics and OH Studio Project, the working studio of her clay practice and a space for creative community events. Her clay practice began in her primary school years at Arts Umbrella and continued into art school at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. With her degree in Industrial Design, Lee focused on designing products for home decor chains in Canada and Europe. In 2007, she leapt back into her love of clay and has been creating tableware for restaurants, tiles for interior designers and attending craft shows across Canada and the United States ever since. More recently Lee’s clay practice has explored the making of Daruma dolls. Her studio is filled with Daruma dolls reflecting her travels, her Korean- and Japanese-influenced upbringing and her life on the Pacific Northwest Coast.
