Art Rental & Sales, operated by the Vancouver Art Gallery, is pleased to present an artist talk with Featured Artist Diego Narvaez on Thursday, April 25 from 6 to 8 PM in the AR&S Showroom.
Nature’s Sprawl – Urban Newgrowth is a series of oil paintings that blurs the boundary between natural and urban environments, challenging viewers to consider how we relate to the spaces we shape and inhabit.
Narvaez observes his surroundings through a process of sketching, painting, notetaking and photography. From this process emerges sublime landscapes that address the ways we relate to our environment. For Narvaez, landscape painting has a revolutionary power to help us slow down in a world that prioritizes productivity and output. It invites us to forget about the barrage of images that vie for our attention and, instead, to really look at a place—to feel its pulse.

The Art Rental & Sales Showroom is open Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM and is located in the Annex Building on the first floor of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Please note that the Showroom will be closed on Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1.
