Art isn’t just something we experience—it’s something that connects us all.

This summer, the Vancouver Art Gallery saw a 29% rise in admissions compared to the past two years—a reflection of how deeply people are engaging with art and each other.

We know that art can meet some of today’s most urgent needs. Young people need fresh ways to see the world. Seniors long for connection. Communities are searching for spaces of dialogue and understanding. This is why we continue to offer:

  • Free admission for Indigenous peoples, welcoming over 450 guests since July 2025;
  • Free First Friday Nights presented by BMO, with over 6,150 complimentary visits in the past 3 months;
  • Free admission for children and youth ages 18 and under, with over 7,500 visits since July 2025;
  • Inspiring School Programs, which foster visual literacy and critical thinking for more than 8,000 students annually and filled up within 48 hours of registration opening this September;
  • Creative family workshops and tours every Sunday, with more than 1,250 participants of all ages in the last 3 months alone, reaching record-breaking post-pandemic attendance;
  • The Art of Wellbeing Lab, developed with healthcare professionals, positioning the Gallery as a place of mental wellbeing.

These numbers tell a story of belonging, curiosity and care.

As the seasons turn, we extend our heartfelt thanks. Whether you are a Gallery Member, patron or visitor, your support keeps the Vancouver Art Gallery thriving as a place where art, artists and community come together.
