Emily Carr with Landon Mackenzie — Wood Chopper and the Monkey
September 20, 2014 to April 6, 2015

Over the past three decades, Vancouver-based painter Landon Mackenzie has produced an impressive body of large-scale painting that addresses mechanisms of perception and the way we situate ourselves in the world. This exhibition traces correlations between different bodies of her work and the paintings of Emily Carr, an artist who has been a touchstone for Mackenzie throughout her career. Read more »

 
 

Unscrolled: Reframing Tradition in Chinese Contemporary Art

Cézanne and the Modern: Masterpieces of European Art from the Pearlman Collection
February 14 to May 18, 2015

See extraordinary masterpieces by some of the most famous artists of the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements. This major exhibition includes a matchless group of paintings and watercolours by Paul Cézanne, as well as paintings and sculptures by artists including Paul Gauguin and Edgar Degas. The exhibition is organised by the Princeton University Art Museum in cooperation with the Henry and Rose Pearlman Foundation, on long-term loan to the Princeton University Art Museum. Of Heaven and Earth: 500 Years of Italian Painting from Glasgow Museums
June 13 to October 4, 2015

Featuring a stunningly beautiful array of works by some of the greatest names in European art—including Giovanni Bellini, Sandro Botticelli, Salvator Rosa and Titian. Discover the evolution of Italian art, from religious paintings of the late Middle Ages and Renaissance to secular neoclassical and genre paintings of the nineteenth century—all through the rich civic art collections of the City of Glasgow.
