Current Opportunities
The Gallery is actively recruiting volunteers for The Gallery Store, School Tour Liaisons, Docents, and for Family FUSE weekend. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Sherry Stewart at 604.662.4708 to schedule an interview.
Ambassador Program
Gallery Ambassadors work in our lobby greeting and orienting visitors on exhibitions and programs, and also special events such as Opening Receptions and FUSE.
Art Agent Volunteers
Every Saturday Art Agent Volunteers work together with the Art Agents to facilitate children’s early encounters with art. Bold, whimsical and funny volunteers are needed!
The Making Place Volunteers
The Making Place features both collaborative and independent art activities. Program instruction includes materials and instruction for all kinds of art making.
Family FUSE Weekend
Volunteers are needed for the Family FUSE Weekend Saturday, November 21st and Sunday, November 22nd, from 10am–5pm. This weekend will include performances, collaborative workshops, tours and other family focused art activities that investigate current exhibitions.

Docent Progam
A challenging and dynamic six-month training program prepares volunteer docents to lead school tours through the exhibitions. If you enjoy talking about art and working with young people, have an open mind and can make a two-year commitment, this program may be for you.

Tour Liaison/ Workshop Assistant
Tour Liaisons welcome school groups and prepare them for their visit to the Gallery as well as assist during art-making workshops for students. Tour Liaison/Workshop Assistant shifts are three hours long on weekday mornings and afternoons.

Gallery Store
Volunteers in the Gallery Store help organize the display of new products, assist visitors and support the retail sales staff.

Concert Liaison
Volunteers greet and direct the public to noon-hour concert series scheduled on select Fridays.
September and January intake.
Other Opportunities
Volunteers also work in our Library and in the Marketing, Development, Registration and Photography Departments.

NEXT VOLUNTEER TRAINING SESSION
A volunteer training course (Foundational Training) will take place at the Vancouver Art Gallery over four consecutive Thursday evenings (October 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th) from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
