The Associates

The Associates

Join the Associates, a dynamic member group dedicated to fostering arts appreciation through social and arts education activities and deeper engagement with the Vancouver and international art scene. Associate members support the work of the Gallery through annual fundraising events and travel programs.

Membership Benefits
In addition to the regular benefits of Gallery Membership, Associates are eligible for the following exclusive benefits:

  • Opportunities to visit artist studios, enjoy film presentations on art history and participate in Gallery tours of current exhibitions
  • Access to special events and art-related travel
  • Opportunities to make new friends while volunteering on a variety of committees and exciting fundraising events

Education Events

Non-members may attend educational events on a limited basis and for a small fee.
Art in the Morning/Art in the Evening
The Associates meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm and on the third Friday of the month at 10am for a guided tour of a current Gallery exhibition.

Art Appreciation
Every second Monday from October to May the Associates gather at the Gallery to view and discuss art DVDs, or occasionally to hear a speaker. Sessions typically run from 11am to noon.

Art Studio Tours
Throughout the year, the Associates also visit artist studios to witness first-hand the artist's creative process and to discuss his or her work. Visits to commercial galleries and galleries are occasionally offered.

Special Events and Travel Programs

Associates are invited to attend the following exclusive special events and art travel programs, to which additional fees apply.
  • Occasional visits to private art collections and corporate collections
  • Opportunities to tour public art in the Vancouver area with knowledgeable guides
  • Invitations to local, national and international art travel programs. Recent cities visited include Paris, Montreal, New York and Victoria
  • Invitations to the Associates' Annual Gala
  • Opportunities to socialize with other visual arts supporters over fine food in attractive venues

  • Enjoy viewing the Tulip Fields at Roozengaarde
  • Guided tour of two museums
    (MoNA: Museum of Northwest Art & Quilt and Textile Museum)
  • Lunch at the Neil Thorn Restaurant on the waterfront.
  • Meet renowned glass artist, Steve Klein, at his artist studio/workshop
  • Travel by private coach
    (Private coach departing at 8am from the Gallery–750 Hornby Street entrance door–and returning to same location around 8pm)

–For early registration, the price is CAN $200 all inclusive (except wine) and includes a $50 donation to the Gallery for which a tax receipt will be issued
After March 15, price rises to $225. One member guest is then allowed at same price.
