July 18–22, 9 AM–2:30 PM

This summer, young artists will take over the Gallery as they look at, think about, discuss and create art in new, playful and thoughtful ways!

From July 18 to 22, twenty campers will have the opportunity to explore the exhibitions Kids Take Over and Uninvited: Canadian Women Artists in the Modern Moment through activity- and curiosity-based tours.

Taking inspiration from the big ideas that we discover in the Gallery, campers will experiment with textiles/soft sculpture, process-based painting, abstract portraits and the power of photography. Then, we will work with the Gallery’s Conservation, Preparation and Museum Services staff to take over the 4th Floor of the Gallery with our creations, expressions and ideas!

At the end of the week, we will celebrate what we have created together at our Summer Camp 2022 exhibition on Friday, July 22 at 2 PM. Your work will be displayed at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and you’ll be able to share your ideas and artworks with your family and friends. Take a closer look at the full program of activities »

This program is open to children aged 6 to 12.

Registration cost for full-day camp is $350 for Gallery Members and $400 for non-members.
