Celebrate Pride at the Gallery!

Join us on Friday, August 2 for a night of creativity, fun and connection in celebration of the LGTBQ2+ community and presented in partnership with Vancouver Pride Society.

The Gallery is open late until 9 PM on the first Friday of every month, giving you even more time to enjoy the artworks on display.

Regular admission rates apply. Free for Gallery Members.

PAINT & DRINK! BAR (age 19+)

5-8:30 PM | Annex Workshop

At this themed bar, visitors can get creative and partake in the making of a communal, paint-by-numbers mural of a work by Art Rental & Sales artist Jean Paul Langlois. Presented by Paintillio, this activity brings participants together to celebrate, create and collaborate. Join in on the fun and make your mark at the Gallery!

ME LOVE BINGO! (age 19+)
WITH KYLE LOVEN
6, 7 and 8 PM | Rooftop Pavilion

Vancouver-based performer and visual artist Kyle Loven hosts his popular Me Love BINGO! event. Part variety hour, part game night and part immersive theatre, this acclaimed experience invites audiences to partake in a lively evening of endless entertainment featuring games, performance numbers and prizes, all while following an unexpected narrative journey.

QUEER LIVING LIBRARY
6-9 PM | Throughout the Gallery

Inspired by the worldwide phenomenon of the Human Library, the Gallery’s Queer Living Library invites visitors to take a page out of a human book as local artists and activists, or “books,” share their stories and answer questions about their lived experiences as members of the LGTBQ2+ community.

Guest speakers include two-spirited activist and 2019 Pride Parade Grand Marshal, Orene Askew (aka DJ O Show); painter Leanne Christie; femcee Shanique Kelly (aka DJ Softieshan); visual artist Tom Hsu; Gallery owner Wil Aballe of Will Aballe Art Projects (WAAP); and the Gallery’s Curatorial Interpretation Coordinator Ashlee Conery.
