Families and Education Throughout the 2012/13 year, the Vancouver Art Gallery

was proud to have provided more than 30,000 visitors with educational programs for children,
teens and families.

The Gallery’s Family FUSE Weekends have continued to be a great success, with attendance
growing with each successive event. Held three times annually, these exhibition-inspired,
two-day events bring together a wide range of artists, performers and educators for an

exciting program that includes performances, in-gallery activities and hands-on workshops.
In this past year, Family FUSE has featured The Dusty Flower Pot Cabaret, NOVO Ensemble,

The Travelling Alchemist Outreach Society, Ron Tran, Mind of a Snail, Jeff Gladstone, Dedos
with Now or Never Crew, Ostwelve, Cloudscape Comics Society, Reel 2 Reel, Stories on Wheels
by Pangaea Arts, Vancouver Lego Club, Jessica Jang, Kate Dawson, and many others. LEFT: Weekly Family Programs, Photo: Melissa Baker.

The Gallery’s free Weekly Family Programs have continued to encourage children and their
families to participate in fun, hands-on activities within the exhibition galleries and art-making
